lizzy and patrick are two of the coolest people i know. when they first introduced themselves to me inquiring about photos, they described their vision as upstage the bride, surrealist, camp spectacle; eschewing a lot of wedding traditions. the couple had recently moved from brooklyn, nyc and wanted something highly editorial and luxurious.
from there, we created some of my favorite images i've ever taken. l+p had a wide variety of wardrobe options: colorful fur coats, bejeweled earrings, heavy pearl overlays, detailed brooches, glittered heels, ruffled bloomers, velvet suits, ruffled skirts, etc.. the outfit styling was assisted by SINCERELY AMBROSIA, a delicately romantic wedding planner-- more than that, an artist.
ambrosia continued to work alongside lizzy and patrick in the wedding planning process, curating the every detail down to lizzy's cascading dove she held as she prepared to walk down the aisle.
prior to the wedding, l+p eloped in the heart of pittsburgh. lizzy wore a custom piece created by GYOUREE KIM, a south korean sustainable fashion designer. the piece consisted of an off-white plate bodice corset made of jacquard fabric, layered with a padded bloom skirt to give the outfit dimension and lift.
l+p got married on august 17th at GREENPOINT LOFT, a brooklyn, new york wedding venue consisting of an open floor planned warehouse space with a rooftop overlooking the city's skyline. to enhance the playful aura of the space, l+p created an upscale fantasy experience for every guest with their moving life-size floral installations, elegant chandelier uplighting, color-diffusing strip lights throughout the tablescape, cheetahs and candelabras, and attention to detail in every dragonfruit infused signature cocktail with it's lipstick imprinted signature napkin.
the dinner was intimately candlelit with an authentic farm-to-restaurant touch hosted by LE FANFARE. all the kitchen's high-quality servings are farm sourced locally and paired with organic italian wines. following this was l+p's welcome drinks at GRAN TORINO. their guests accompanied the space in fashion-forward glitter and glam, of course.
the morning of l+p's wedding was spent at THE BOX HOUSE HOTEL, located at the northern tip of greenpoint, offering a creative space with beautiful city views.
l+p were pronounced married surrounded by all their friends and family. the space was heavily styled with florals by MOSS WOMAN, live circus performance by NEON CIRCUS NYC, and catered by the one and only, EDYS GROCER. lizzy wore a british-sri lankan couture label designer, SARANYA, and the most beautiful, rhinestoned heels by JEFFREY CAMPBELL, followed by an all red look with bejeweled heart embellishments hand stitched on the front. they concluded their wedding day with a private last dance as newlyweds under the glistening lights of the disco balls, listening to cigarettes after sex. :,)
photographing lizzy and patrick's wedding day gave me so much hope that i had a space where i felt like i belonged in the wedding industry. i never stop smiling and giggling around these two. they make you feel like home, like you've been best friends for years. to lizzy and patrick, thank you for trusting me to photograph all of these beautiful moments for you-- this will forever be a dream come true.
to LJPR forever!
